Notes for psychology courses, ca. 1927-ca. 1946.

Collection consists of sixteen notebooks containing lecture, reading and laboratory notes, primarily for psychology courses. Most of the notebooks are not identified by date, and presumably could have been used by Volkmann as an undergraduate student, graduate student, or teacher. Of the two notebooks not covering psychology courses, one is labelled Zoology 1 and the other, Social Ethics 8.

John Volkmann (b. 1906) earned his Harvard AB 1927, AM 1929, and Ph.D. 1931. He taught at Harvard for a few years after completing his Ph.D.; he also worked in the Psycho-Acoustic Laboratory at Harvard during World War II.
